VARICOSE VEINS TREATMENT

Sclerotherapy Treatment

Sclerotherapy is an effective treatment for spider vein removal. It's often considered the treatment of choice for painful varicose veins.

Sclerotherapy is primarily done for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of spider veins on the legs. The procedure can also improve related varicose vein symptoms such as aching, swelling, burning, and even night cramps.

Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the damaged vein. The Sclerotherapy solution causes the damaged varicose vein to collapse and scar, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is then reabsorbed into local fades.

After Sclerotherapy, treated spider veins tend to fade within a few weeks. In some cases, it may take a month or more to see the full results and several spider vein injections may be needed.

What to Expect from Vein Sclerotherapy

If your spider veins are found to be appropriate for Sclerotherapy treatment, a numbing solution will be applied to the area. A tiny needle will be used to inject the sclerosing agent into each varicose vein that requires treatment.
